Overview
LoongStore Technology is a storage software start-up founded in 2007. Our core product is a distributed file system named LeoFS. While running on general commodity hardware, different from Google File System, LeoFS is a fully POSIX-compliant file system. LoongStore Fusion provides ideal support to enterprise customers with large capacity needs and cloud computing, being an IaaS building block offering a highly scalable inexpensive clustered storage.
LoongStore was founded by engineers who graduated from the Chinese Academy of Sciences with substantial experience in high-performance computing storage. Our current customers include some of the largest state enterprises and prominent Internet websites in China, for example:
- Daqing Institute of Petroleum Exploration, 200 TB in high-performance computing usage. Daqing has the largest oil field in China, which has produced more than 10 billion barrels of oil since production started in 1960. While saving customer 50% in TCO, our system improved computing efficiency 5 fold by providing concurrent support to over 500 computing nodes. Attached is a joint case study with Intel on Daqing.
- Renren.com, started with 30 TB in 2008 now expanded to over 800 TB, managing billion of files under one namespace. Renren.com is the largest social network website in China with over 100 million registered users. The volume of daily uploaded pictures is up to 7 million at peak. LoongStore's file system can store millions of files under single directory with high retrieval efficiency. Attached is a joint case study with Intel on Renren.com.
- Hualong Film Digital Production, 80 TB in 2009 now expanded to 200 TB
